UCB have announced that the EMEA has issued a positive opinion or lacosamide (Vimpat) for the adjunctive treatmentof partial onset seizures with or without secondary generalisation in patients with epilepsy, aged 16 years and older

Data announced today by UCB show its Voltage-gated sodium channel/Collapsin-response mediator protein 2 inhibitor lacosamide to demonstrate efficacy in fibromyalgia syndrome. UCB will decide by the end of 2008 whether to start Phase IIb trials after further analyzing the results
